***Even though Winter has just started, the seed catalogs are arriving in the mail. Plan your gardens early in front of a roaring fire! ***

Carole Marsh
Supervisor

WELCOME TO THE TOWN OF POMPEY, a LARGE part of Onondaga County, 64 square miles. We are the highest inhabited spot in the county. We offer quiet solitude and spaciousness, natural beauty and a rich historical heritage, having celebrated our 200th Anniversary in 1994. Everyone wants trees in his back yard and a creek running nearby, and we have plenty of both!

We have many recreation spots within the boundaries of Our Town, summer and winter. These include two golf courses; Delphi Golf Course and Pompey Hills Golf Course, also noted for its swim team. Pratts Falls Park and Camp Brockway are Onondaga County Parks which provide picnic facilities for large and small groups, cross country skiing and hiking, as does nearby Highland Park. Several other county and state parks are close by, including Jamesville Beach for swimming and Green Lakes State Park with its swimming and camping facilities. Cazenovia Lake offers boating and fishing. If it’s skiing you prefer, Toggenberg, Labrador and Song Mountain Ski Centers are all within twenty minutes of HOME.

 Rabies Alert

Supervisor Carole Marsh has contacted the DEC, the County Health Department and the Sheriff's Office in regards to reports of three suspected rabid animals in the Pompey Hill area. The advice she was given is simple- Steer Clear of the suspected animal! If bitten, scratched or come into contact with saliva from the suspected animal. Then call 911 to have them alert the Sheriffs or the DEC to report or remove the suspected animal. If bitten, scratched, etc.. seek medical attention immediately.
Go to the following link for more rabies information, signs and symptoms. More info

Our town of Pompey is beautiful everyday. The winter may cover the ground, but it does little to hinder the town's graceful landscapes. We are always looking for pictures to share with our readers that show what a beautiful town we live in. Pictures can be emailed to sue@andrewsassociates.org for inclusion on this page. Thank you.
